A new year brings new trends, and 2022 is no different. This year, it’s all about versatile, calming hues for your home.
Major paint brands like Valspar®, Benjamin Moore®, Sherwin-Williams® and BEHR®, along with color authority Pantone® have chosen their colors of the year. The trend: nature-inspired colors that make any space feel more serene. That’s not so different from last year’s color trends, which included gorgeous shades of olive green, teal, and off-white.
Let’s look at the colors we’ll be seeing plenty of this year, and where they might fit best into your home.
The Paint Color You Can Use Anywhere
Valspar chose a palette of 12 colors this year, one of which is Gilded Linen. If you’re ready to ditch gray as a neutral, this shade of cream is for you! It’s warm, modern, and versatile, making it the perfect color for any area of your home. Our Biscuit shower walls are the perfect way to incorporate this color into your bathroom—no paint brushes needed.
Create a Calming Bathroom With This Color
Who says bathrooms need to be neutral? Part of a larger color palette of calming, nature-inspired hues, Benjamin Moore’s October Mist 1495 is a gorgeous shade of silvery green. Pair it with Ice™ Grey or Calacatta Crema shower walls and Matte Black fixtures for an ultra-chic look.
Refresh Your Home Office or Bedroom With This Color
While you probably work hard to maintain boundaries between your work space and the rest of your home, this is one paint color that works in both areas of your life.
Evergreen Fog from Sherwin-Williams is a shade of green-gray that is subtle, but sophisticated. It works just as well as a virtual meeting backdrop as it does in a bedroom. This color is especially great for nature-inspired color palettes and pairs well with organic decor.
The Perfect Color For Your Living Room or Kitchen
Paint brand Behr chose 20 colors this year, but the one standout is Wild Mustang. This warm, comforting brown is ideal for your living room, kitchen, or dining room. Use it on an accent wall in smaller spaces, and in larger spaces, Wild Mustang makes a great primary color for the room.
The Wildcard Color
Pantone did something they’ve never done before when choosing their 2022 Color of the Year: they created a brand new color. Very Peri is a shade of periwinkle that was designed by the Pantone team to be cheerful and encourage creativity. It would be right at home in an art studio, craft room, children’s room, or anywhere you want to inject a little joy.
